Great seafood restaurants in the area too. Stayed at Myrtle Beach SP several times too but prefer HBSP. Quieter, more private. No laundry facilities at HBSP, but with ur permit there u can get into MBSP and use their laundry if neded.
- TerryallanExplorer IIFirst thing to ask is When are you going? IF you planned on going between mid June, and Sept this summer. You may be too late. All the parks fill up pretty fast. You may catch a break, and call when there is a cancelation. But at this late date, Our choice, and preferences don't mean much. You will more than likely have to take what you can get. Start with what you think would be your choice and call, and call until you either run out of choices, or find a spot.
We like PirateLand because it is quieter, and we also like MBTP. We will stay at OL, Lakewood, or Apache IF we can't get in the others.
Don't care for the state parks as their sites are well off the beach, and only have a few full hookup sites.
the private parks have everything you need for a stay at the beach. You NEVER need to leave the CG unless you just want to.
As for your choice of North, or South Myrtle. The North end has restaurant row, Barefoot Landing, Allagator Adventure, and the Tanger outlets. Plus it is close to Wilmington, for a day trip.
The South end is closer to town, and Broadway on the beach, and Garden City pier, and Charleston is a couple hours away.
Depends on what you want to do. - CampingN_C_ExplorerMBTP for the last five years!

- wildtoadExplorer IIOne more for HBSP. Never have understood the draw of the industrial sized parks. But to each his own.
