It won't be a parking lot that time of the year unless you're looking at Easter week. Also no need for a shaded spot. The weather will likely be wonderful.
As far as which campground -- I'd look at the attractions in the area and plan around what you want to do. We prefer Myrtle Beach Travel Park because it's closer to most of the things we enjoy doing, and also because it's a bit smaller than the big three commercial campgrounds to the south and doesn't allow golf carts.
