Nashville, TN

We're planning a September trip to Nashville (and Memphis) and have some questions about Nashville. We're going to stay at Seven Points Campground (COE) in Hermitage, TN. Having been told that parking and driving in Nashville isn't the easiest, we noticed that there's a Park & Ride in Hermitage, (4121 Andrew Jackson Parkway) that's 5.4 miles from Seven Points. Our plan would be to drive our class B van there and then take the bus into Nashville. We'd appreciate knowing if this is a good plan, or is there any alternative advice that you might suggest? Thanks in advance for all suggestions.

    In Nashville there are three campgrounds near the Grand Ole Opry. KOA, Two Rivers and Yogi Bears Jellystone. All three are stops on the shuttle route to downtown.
    $10 or $12 round trip. In Memphis we stayed at Graceland RV and if you walk across the street to the hotel you can get the shuttle to Beale St. for the same price. I would not drive in either places.

    During the day you are correct about driving and parking. At night or weekends for sporting events or concerts, it isn't bad at all. But I wouldn't drive an RV in it anytime. +1 on the bus, then Uber if needed.

    When in Memphis stick to Beale Street. Don't wander about at night. I don't mean to scare you but Memphis is not a safe city outside the tourist areas. Common sense is in order.

    Don't miss seeing the Hermitage when in Nashville. Broadway st. is the main attraction there, lots of good restaurants and live music. As mentioned the parks on Music Valley Drive are good and on the shuttle stops. Seven Points is nice I hear too but not as convenient.

    Hi VE, etc...

    Slightly off your conversation - we just stayed at Seven Points in May. Nice CG. Now drag a toad behind the B+, since we traded in the Roadtrek 4 years ago, so didn't have the issue you did. Easy ride into Nashville from the COE. You might want to check out parking at Nissan Stadium. LARGE parking lot, footpath/bridge right into downtown Nashville - supposedly free - plenty of room for the RT from what we could see. Also large parking lot at Grand Old Opry - again no issue for RT. Hope this helps!

    Have stayed at Seven Points many times. Just take an Uber. That is what we do and it's very easy.

    Thanks to all (and especially loggenrock who informed me about the Nissan Stadium) for the very useful replies.

    I googled "Nissan Stadium RV Parking" and found this "tip" from a visitor to Nashville:

    "If you want to visit downtown Nashville, park for free at the Nissan Stadium in lot R (unless there's an event at the stadium) and walk across the pedestrian bridge next to the parking lot into downtown."

    Sounds like a better plan than the one in my first post!
