Natchez Trace - OK to miss the first few miles at north end?

Next week is when I plan to tow our 30' 5th-wheel down the trace. My first visit. To get to the start or near the start from where we are now in central KY, I'm planning on taking US-31E south to US-2...

And when you get to the Southern end of the Trace at Natchez, cross the Mississippi to Vidalia L and stay at the Riverview RV Park ....located just as you get off the bridge in Vidalia http://riverviewrvpark.com/directions.htm
