- TPUCExplorerThere are several state parks along the parkway which are very nice! We have driven it twice in the last two years
- Fishy_Old_ManExplorerThanks for info. Just what I needed.
- LamanExplorerAt the Southern end of the Trace, Natchez State Park, nice little park. Love the Trace been traveling for years with and without RV.
Watch your speed! Also make sure you do not have a commercial license plate or anything that makes your rig look commercial, they will ticket you in a heartbeat. - Johno02ExplorerAnother choice is Tishamingo(sp?) state park in Mississippi. A number of nice sties, check with the park if reservations are needed.

- linnemjExplorerIf you want to stop in Northeastern Mississippi, we highly recommend Piney Grove COE Campground in New Site, MS. It is a beautiful campground located approximately 5 miles off the Natchez Trace. Great variety of campsites, many along a lake. In summer, especially weekends, reservations are recommended. It is worth a 2-3 night stay.
Have a wonderful trip! - Fishy_Old_ManExplorerThank you for all the replies.
I appreciate it. - Matt_ColieExplorer IIFishy,
First, you need to plan where you want to break off for the day. You should start on that now. It doesn't matter if you are north or south bound, there is still too much to see. I personally recommend that you plan three days on the Trace. Yes, that is only about 150 miles per day, but with an historical marker or location about every other mile. Really-Truly
There are nice camp grounds all along the Trace and many more are in easy striking range. If you limiting to full hookup, there are fewer but still a good number. I have stayed in only a few FHU but were never disappointed by Camp Ground Reviews.
Matt - armadillo_17ExplorerCheck out NFS Davis Lake. Real nice, about 5 miles off the trace in Mississippi.
