Natural Bridge, Va

We are hoping to stay in the area next month. I have done a search in here and research and there are a lot to choose from. We do want full hook ups (at the least water and electric) and kid friendly and be close to the bridge itself.

Between 2 campgrounds.. Yogi bear at natural bridge and the koa in Lexington. Any opinions? I see a train track on the other side of the James river at yogi. Anyone know if this is active and loud? We also want as many trees as possible.

Thx
  • From what you mentioned, it sounds like we would only be interested in the bridge and maybe the caverns.
  • Bridge and caverns could be done in a day, so yes a weekend trip would be sufficient.

Be prepared big time money sticker shock wise to go see the Natural Bridge. $20 each I think it was stated (several years ago). We just took pictures of the display they had setup and went and got some ice cream haha... Hard to pay to see something God created... I guess Natural Bridge is private owned maybe...

The ZOO is a must see place... They had little tigers there you could pet and play with... We spent a whole day wondering around the Zoo...

The railroad is active... We used to stay at Otter Creek up on the Parkway and the train could be heard up there... I think Otter Creek is closed this year - They don't have hookups anyway...
