Natural Tunnel SP, VA

Trying to gather info about Natural Tunnel SP, VA, other than what's on the web. Looking for personal accounts/opinions. We'd be leaving Fairy Stone SP going through Mt. Airy, it's a gotta see for us, and then on to Natural Tunnel SP.
My question is: is the park more than a night over? Or can we comfortably spend a couple of days there with out being totally bored?
We like hiking, though both have asthma & COPD, so we're limited in that regard but sights, nature & history are good. And don't forget good food!
Thanks for your thoughts.

I really like Natural Tunnel, very scenic. Just so you know, it's a zig zag type path down and back up, and steep on the return. With COPD, just take your time.

I don't think you'd get bored with a 2 or 3 night stay. Big Stone Gap is nearby, a nice place to visit.
  • While in the area of Mt Airy you might be interested in Stone Mountain SP, Roaring Gap, NC. A few miles to the west.
  • Garmp, Sorry guess I was having a senior moment, mixing up natural bridge and tunnel At any rate ,,,,,

FOOD!!!!! While in Mt Airy, stop at Aunt Bea's for pulled pork BBQ and get some of the house sauce.
