Navajo Lake State Park Colorado

Has anyone camped at this location with a fifth wheel?
  • I stayed there several years ago at the Colorado State Park end. Absolutely beautiful and peaceful. Double towed the gear in my signature all the way from Denver. Long day, but no issues, even with Wolf Creek Pass. The lake was wonderful. A full hour at 30mph from the Colorado Marina to the New Mexico marina.

We had full hookup and were right overlooking the lake. I'd go back every week if I could, but distance makes that impossible. We did nice day trip to Mesa Verde - not too far at all. Here are some pictures. In the bottom one you can see a young bear running through the campground! Apparently a rare sight, according to the Rangers.

  • We stay at the Cottonwood campground in the park below the dam for awesome fishing on the San Juan.
  • We spent some time at Navajo Lake on the Colorado side. Navajo

A very nice park with three separate campgrounds. One has FHU's and all have showers. An early season or late season visit is a great choice. Does get a tad warm in mid season.
  • I spent half of my childhood growing up in northern New Mexico and I've been to that lake several times but never realized it extended into Colorado....learn something new every day. OP, there are a few good reviews here (two with 5th wheels)
  • Have not stayed there butPictures are worth a thousand words.

All of the many State Parks of Colorado I've stayed at have never disappointed us.

    BOL,
