Nc ashville area

we camp once a year with friends this year the talk is NC last year we did yellowstone and tetons. Anyone got any suggestions on where to camp. We don't mind boondocking but friends look for more amenities.
  • There are a ton of CGs in the NC Mountains. As mentioned Campfire Lodging is nice, Mama Gerties , and the KOA. As well as Orchard Lake, and well the list is endless.

However. For the cooler NC Mountains. You want to go to the Boone, Blowing Rock area. There you can try Raccoone Holler, Boone KOA, Flintlock, Honey Bear, And the primitive CGs on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Linville, and Julian Price.
  • Are you looking for lots of outdoor activities or a nice place to hang out without leaving the RV? We like the state parks in North Carolina, but we do a lot out of the camper and only spend limited time in camp during the day. Stone Mountain is quite nice, as is South Mountains, and you can get some hook-ups (water + electric I believe) There are others as well, but nothing that I know of that has a lot of hook-ups (we don't do commercial RV parks so I can't speak to what's available...)
