Need a boondock/dispersed spot on or near Whidbey Island, WA

Being from Florida, its usually pretty easy to get a campsite during the summer. However, we didn't realize how busy the campgrounds here (Washington State) would be for July 4th so we'll have to move...

but.....free boondocking sites? I'm from Washington (not from that area though) and I see a lot of campgrounds, but no free boondocking.


would love to know if there is.
