Also. I've never camped there but we are thinking about making a long weekend of a visit to Carter Caves State Park in KY. That's going to close to the limit of your 3-4 hour range I think. Visited there as a kid, never camped there. But you might check it out as well as other Ky state parks in the Northern part of the state.
And another one might be Lake Vesuvius area of the Wayne National Forest. Again it's on my list but have not camped there. It's close to the "Farm" in "Farm Camp" and I understand it has been recently updated. Your mileage may vary but if you make it to either of these get back in touch and let me know if you liked them!
Actually it's only 73 days till I can camp again! ;). Not that I'm obsessing about it or anything.
