Now I'm into Music and on the west side of MI, goign north on 131 and running out of freeway and keep on going, you come to both Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp (Where my daughter spent some time) and Interlochen.. Also other attractions, More Museums, Grand Rapids (you have yet to run out of freeway) and more
Going north on I-69 and then US-27 Lansing is the State Capitol. Continuin north you come to Indian River and the Shrine to the only Native American Saint, also the largest wooden crucifix in the world.. Continuing north the BIB MACK (Bridge) and on into the UP. Tahquamenon Falls State Park which is just west of the town of Paradise (you'll be glad you made it) This is (in terms of GPM) #2 behind Niagara but unlike Niagara business has not intruded on the nearly all natural setting,, only the Canoe Livery is within site of the falls.
YOu can get to the falls via a rather long hike (Too long for me any more) or on the private side by the Boat/"Train" ride (there are two nearby)
Continuing all over there are many Waterfalls, and attractions in the UP, Why it's even Christmas there all year long (Name of a town).
Heading back south on I-75 (Well part of US-27 is also I-75) you come to more attractions,, alas.. I don't really do well till you hit Pointiac and could do better there but this leads back to Detroit, and then on down to Toledo (ohio) and the main east west toll road.
