Need recommendations for Tampa to Fort Myers

I'm not sure how this thread got bumped, because threads are supposed to automatically close and archive after 12 months of inactivity. I'm closing this one manually. If this is still an active topic, feel free to open a new thread.

If you work at it there will be cancellations and you could luck into a site. Be prepared to pay if you want to get into a private park. The trouble with Florida is that people snag a spot for next year before they leave this year. The last time we were in there in the winter (2015-2016), we didn't make advanced reservations and couldn't find a spot south of Ft Myers unless we wanted to pay over $100 a night.

Relative to the questions; we have stayed here just north of Sarasota. They've doubled the size of the park since we were there. Nice people, big sites (for a private park in FL) and close to stuff.

On RV Park Reviews (now called campgroundreviews.com), use the rating for comparison. Our general rule is to skip any place rated below 7.5. Beware of parks with a low number of reviews because of the small sample. Also if you see a bad review, look at the other reviews from that person. If all his/her reviews are bad, they
are probably just unhappy people to begin with and no place is going to be good enough.

I haven’t been to that area before. But I have been to the Texas area and you can find a similar RV park with the facilities that you are looking for. It’s really a great place to stay ***Link Removed***. Anyways, this thread has been of great help to me in learning about other RV parks in the Naples Area.

We did get into some state parks at the last minute. We kept calling and they finally had some cancellations.

San Carlos close to sannibel and ft myers beach.

Ok I see that you want a pool. That is not hard to find. South of Sarasota will find a number of parks that are 20 or more miles from the beaches. Go on one of the internet sites and look them up. If you want to be on the water and there is a huge difference between on the water and on the beach you can expect to pay a grand or more a month. Most of those places can pack them in. Anyway do your homework now and start looking. We are staying at an Encore park in Port Charlotte for the winter. I know they Encore are advertising deals for Dec. Do not know about the rest of the year. We do get crowded in the winter. Good luck

A few years ago we lucked into this campground. Nice people - active pool area but a ways from the beach but you will have to take what you can find

While we stayed at the Naples Motorcoach Resort, (Class A only) we did look at two other parks in the area. Both of the ones below were very very nice. Don't know about availability though...you'll have to call them....good luck....Dennis

That far south you are not likely to find anything you would like. Further north maybe
