Need smooth route east N.C. to Goshen In.

OK, I might be taking my trailer back to the Lippert factory in Goshen to get my frame repaired. It has the usual frame flex between the pin box and frame.

So, I'm "fairly" sure I'll make it without the trailer falling off but I have to avoid any roads/interstates that are in poor repair. Anyone travel that route?

  • Stay off I-40 as it is rough once you leave NC and get into TN.

BTW my condolences on your problems. We made that trip twice for repairs on a piece of junk Newmar fifth wheel. They never fixed it and i gave up and sold it after four years of trying.

    Good luck !!!
  • I live near Anderson, Indian and have been Northern Indiana more times than I can count. I also lived near Morganton, NC for a couple years a LONG time ago. I'd drive home (Indiana) several times.

Coming from Western NC (not knowing exactly where though), this is the route I'd take. All are good roads, at the moment (I) do know know of any current closures or detour, but I've not driven this route since last March.

    I40 West out of NC
    I75 North at Knoxville
I275 (West and North) around Cincinnati, Oh.
    I74 North
    Highway 3 North
At Markel, Indiana, take Highway 234 West and then hit
    I69 North
    Highway 6 West
    Highway 15 North
