I think the author is missing one key point, the land he is talking about isn't cheap. It is considered prime real estate. Exit Real Estate off major interstates is not cheap. It would need to be off the interstate a couple miles and that basically defeats the purpose.
The author's ideal campground would need to be dirt cheap, like $5/night for me to stop there. I am happy with Wal Mart for a quick overnight stay. It might be nice to have electricity, but it's not really necessary. Our Motorhome has a generator and if we are at a Wal Mart, there is most likely Tractor Trailers idling that are just as loud or louder than our generator.
