- ksbowmanExplorer IIThe tunnels are extremely narrow. We went thru with our mirrors in the tow (out) position on our 2005 Dodge 2500 and I only had a little clearance on each side. Wasn't paying close enough attention and rubbed the passenger side mirror. I can measure my truck with the mirrors out if you'd like the width. I would think your dually would be wider on the flares but they might just be the same.
- DutchmenSportExplorerWe made it trough one tunnel at 10 feet wide. The second one we did not, it was 8 feet 2 inches wide. I’m a good driver but I wanted mirrors left on the truck when we came out the other side. So we did not d

Is this doable in a dually?
Sure, just get a good running start! :W

Yes you can. Tour busses do It all the time! Now Iron Mountains Road is tight and you cannot do it in an RV or even towing a trailer. But I followed a dually through the tunnels.
I stand to be corrected but I thought buses could only navigate a few of the tunnels, meaning they couldn't do the loop and had to turn and return the same way they came in. That's what we were told when we were there in 2015 (Class B PleasureWay at that time). But... maybe we were misinformed.
BTW, the Needles Highway was definitely one of the BIG highlights of our cross-continent trip. - 2oldmanExplorer IIThis is SD?
- azdryheatExplorerSo what is the attraction to Needles HWY other than jeopardizing your rig? Never heard of the place.
