It's the nature of the beast, people come up with the idea of camping to have some fun on the holiday and they are by no means seasoned campers that know the sometimes unwritten CG courtesies. ALBEIT most of the time the holiday weekends are full of the new "it's all about me generation", that doesn't even know how to spell courtesy.
I got to see just this after going full time. I had pulled in to CG on my way south and decided to stay for a couple of weeks so I was not driving on the road during the holidays.
It's like a slow motion movie unfolding before your eyes.
For days the CG goes about functioning as normal and campers are happy and going about their days walking around and talking and having quiet campfire dinners.... and THEN the weekend comes and you watch as 'they' pull in one by one, set ups are chaotic, the drinking starts before the levelers are down, and then the noise, the noise and craziness escalate into the night and repeats itself for four more days.
Then...they leave one by one and the CG returns to normal.:C
Sorry the OP had to endure a CG gone wild on the precious days they had to enjoy a family get together.
