I avoid three day weekends if I can, but if I'm on a long road trip, I try to NOT be near a popular vacation area, and stay at a FHU park (which I do anyway). No guarantees, but the folks that show up at a campground with a half barrel and a nickle bag of peanuts aren't looking for amenities. They're looking for the cheapest place they can find so they can get knee walkin' drunk.
