The report from the private campground 5 miles up the road from home, a campground I've visited numerous times, though never to camp -- it's just too close to home, makes it way to easy to duck home for a second for some foolish errand or other.
Anyway, I've never seen the place really full. But this Memorial weekend, a friend noted on her facebook page that they had only a few primitive (i.e., no hookups whatever) sites left, and were requiring folks wanting them to sign up for 4 days to get them. That tells me all I wanted to know about going camping THIS weekend. We stayed home, on our own 26 acres, played in the garden, cleaned up the wood pile, drank beer on the porch, and enjoyed the peace and quiet, at least such of it as we had courtesy of the cicadas.
