New England!

opps I stand corrected. I think I probably knew that but as children are not even allowed in to visit it stuck in my head that it was 55+. We usually see mostly older couples like us...50/60's but now that you say that we have seen some younger couples there. In fact we talked one time with a young couple who were tent camping there on their honeymoon.

Thats so cool. We love it there. Definitely check it out. I emailed Judy.Opening Day is May 7th I think. We started camping in 2007 and Lake Forest was one of the first places we stayed. We have been going back regularly since then.

Bocce Ball, Pot Luck dinners, book club and things like that. There are other planned activities but low key and again quiet. It is on Great East Lake which is graded a Class A lake. It is so clean and crystal clear. Many seasonal people there and everyone is friendly. Many people have kayaks, canoes and sailfish down by the lake as there is an easy in and out boat ramp. There is a deck along the lake with plenty of chairs to sit in with steps and docks into the lake for swimming. And a short drive away there is the Cotton Trail bike path again my favorite bike trail to ride on. Park at Fernald Station and head one direction throughout the forest and a nice swampy area. Head in the other direction through the forest along Lake Wentworth and end up in Wolfboro NH right on Lake Winnipasawkee. Dave and Judy the owners are great. Its a family run campground which was started by Dave's father many years ago I believe. Its about an hours drive to the White Mountains and North Conway NH. No wifi.

There is another one in Maine called Potters Place but we have never been there. 55 and over or maybe adult only...not sure.Its quite northern in ME.

Correction: Wild Duck is an ADULT only park which is 21+.

LOL, I've been trying to get a W/E site for the past 2 yrs, no luck.

A possible campground for the OP would be Hammonassette State Park. No full hookups, but if you can get a partial hookup (water and electric) you might enjoy it. Right off I95, and the electric sites are within 100 yards of the beach. I don't think you'd have any problem with a large 5th wheel. After saying this, I have to warn you that the odds of getting an electric site are almost zero.

Atlantic Oaks Campground is right on the bike trail, I think most sites are full hookup. The bike trail is great on Cape Cod! I had heard of it, but never been on it until last summer.

Hey come to where we seasonal Copake KOA. Its just into NY where CT MA and NY meet. In the top 25 of all KOAs. All full hookup and 50 amp. Great area too. Lots to see and d within 45 min radius.

Thanks for all the recommendations! Starting my research now. We plan to travel throughout the entire area, so happy to have all of these.
