New Orleans Area

We want to stay about four nights in New Orleans. We plan to make a day trip to Biloxi but spend most of out time in New Orleans. Can anyone suggest a nice RV park in the area. Thanks, Wes

  • Last time we were there, we used the French Quarter RV Resort. Only two blocks walking to the quarter. It is not cheap but you can't beat the location. If you are looking for grass, this is not the place.
  • While you are waiting search this Forum in the RV Parks section for `new orleans' and take your pick.
  • Bayou Signette State park is very nice. No sewer but they have a dump station and free laundry. It is about a 15 minute drive to the Algiers Ferry and the ferry drop right off in the French Quarter. There is a small fee for the ferry and a parking fee. The campground staff is very helpful and even gave us a print out on where to find the post office, Wal-Mart, etc. It is an urban campground but the price is outstanding. The campground was completely redone after Katrina.
  • Check on LA's state park website for their state parks around NOLA. LA does a great job with their state parks. Water/electric connections and wifi. Shower houses usually very clean and well maintained. A lot cheaper than commercial campgrounds in the area and a lot better maintained that some of the commercial ones.
