New RV Park in Key Largo, Fl.

Just opened today in Key Largo, Fl. Very nice, brand new on Florida Bay in Key Largo. This was badly needed. It's the nicest in the upper keys!

  • Too bad they cut the shade down. That stay was truely memorable ... beautiful sunsets. We took my mom and dad on a trip through the Keys and this was the second stop on the trip. Wife and mom would sit on lawn chairs in the water. We had one of the waterfront sites for 2 days. Not sure how it would be without the trees now, but I would stay there for at least one night even with the price just for the sunset.

Tell me if I'm wrong, but this looks like the old America Outdoors campground that closed several years ago because they were going to build condos on the site. If it is we paid about $90.00 per night including tax in April of 2003. No ... nothing is cheap in the Keys.

No, It is about 1.5 miles north of the old America Outdoors. On the bayside too.
  • Yes, you are correct. They cut all the trees down, there is no shade at all, will be hot in the summer. They put a nice pool in overlooking Florida Bay. All in all they did a nice job, new buildings, pool, great view, nice sunset view, I think they will do well even though some people will think it's pricey until they see what the alterative's are.

  • No they are not paved, crushed rock for now. There is NOTHING cheap in the Florida Keys, believe me I live here!
  • another website without a picture of an actual RV site. Could not tell from any of the writeup whether the sites are paved. Would pay that kind of price for paved but not for unpaved.

Wow, that is pricey! $100 a night is their cheapest site.

Guess you have not been to a commercial park in the keys lately this price is not uncommon
  • Cool!

Am in the process of planning my first trip to the keys (hopefully) this summer!

But they will probably ban skoolies like most of the others I have called. :(

My other problem is that we will likely have a horse and donkey with us, lol.

ETA: "All registered RV’s must be in good working order and appearance."

I wonder if a custom camo paint job counts, lol.
