This was our first winter as snowbirds and we headed to Harlingen, TX. While the weather wasn't as warm as we were hoping, according to the locals it was probably the coolest they've had in a long time; it was considerably warmer than the -17 Iowa got this winter.
We were very happy with the resort we went to and 95% of the residents were very warm and inviting.... there's always a few in the bunch.
The resort we went to had so many activities that if you wanted to you could be busy 24/7 or you could do nothing at all if you chose. The price was a little spend cause we paid month by month and didn't book ahead to get a better rate. We met so many new friends and can't wait to come back next year or reconnect during the summer.
Haven't been camping in Florida but RGV was just fine for what we were looking for.... to get out of the cold and make new friends.
