Niagara

Looking for suggestions on parks. Family of 5 with kids ranging 6-15. Looking to visit the falls but also want an enjoyable time at the part with a pool and things for the kids. We all have passports so open to US or Canada side. Anyone stay somewhere and love it? Thanks!
  • A few years (3) ago we stayed at the Yogi Bears Campground Niagara falls Canada. Eveb though we did not have any kids with us it was close to the falls and had shuttle to and from for its guest. So for that I give it a good grade.

As for the kids stuff to do. There were lots of kids having what looked like a very good time. Theres alot to do at the park, Do not forget to get your picture taken with Yogi

I would stay there again if in area

About 15 years ago we stayed at the KOA on Canadian side on Lundy's Lane. It was a great park, stuff for kids to do, and the city bus stopped multiple times a day at the entrance - it brings you right to Niagara Falls. This was a long time ago, so I don't know how things are today.

We ate at the Skylon tower restaurant over looking the falls - very cool restaurant and we had a great time. We did the buffet, and I am sure they did not make any profit that day! lol!

Most nights the falls are lit up with colored spot lights. There is a lot to do on the Canadian side, it is very built up and touristy.
  • Give Sherskton Shores a try. Only about 20 minutes to the falls. Great RV Resort with a water park, multiple pools, private beaches, restaurants, etc. We had a blast there with our kids.

  • We stayed at the KOA on the Canadian side a year ago this weekend. It was jam packed and trailers were very close together. Fortunately we only stayed one night there, as we wanted to see the Falls and then leave the following morning. We do overnight stops often in KOAs and, for us, this was the worst experience ever.
  • Don't miss your opportunity to visit Ft Niagra it is a wonderful historic site with reenactors.

Thanks all for the suggestions, we will look at them all!

Regarding Sherskton, this jumped out at me during google searches and as nice as it looks, Sun is killing me with these $200+ per night camp sites. They are buying everything and the prices are shooting through the roof. I noticed they have availability most weeks through the summer but for a 35' trailer with full hookup it was $240 most nights. Yikes!

And see the actual firing of the guns and cannon.

We stayed at Lockport NY I forget the name of the campground.
  • We just stayed at the Niagara KOA 3 nights (Lundys Lane), expensive but definately geared for families with kids. 2 swimming pools, various bike rentals, many other kid/family things. Sites near us weren't that close, and kids having fun are noisy! But thats what they're there for, and quieten down at night.

Wer'e early 70's and it didnt bother us a bit.
