Oak mountain state park in Alabama close to Birmingham is right off the interstate and is real nice . Where are you heading to in Pensacola
Not a bad CG but about 25 minutes off of I65. There is a little known area in the same park, normally reserved for equestrian campers but it is seldom full. There are only 7 or 8 full HU sites here but it's located just inside the park entrance and about 15 minutes closer. All of the sites are pull through. For an overnight stay I would suggest here.
Oak Mountain is located south of Birmingham so your morning departure would head against the rush hour traffic, if traveling south. - 1971duster340ExplorerWhile you've got rvparkreviews open, look into
Cave Country RV, Cave City KY, I65 Exit 53. A mile off 65.
AND
Northgate RV Park, Athens AL, I65 Exit 354. Easy off/on 65, but not much interstate noise. Maybe 15mi south of TN/AL state line. Not much for amenities, but nice owner, nice place.
Plenty of maneuvering room at both camps. - Rangerman40Explorer

Good topic, as I'll be needing a place to camp on our way home to Northern KY from Destin in June.
Not sure how much you drive a day, but 2 years ago we stayed in Destin and I made it to Just south of Louisville before I needed to stop for sleep. We live in Dayton, Oh so it made for a quick trip the next morning. - atomlinsonExplorerGood topic, as I'll be needing a place to camp on our way home to Northern KY from Destin in June.
- Alabama_JimExplorerOak Mountain in Birmingham is nice and at Pensacola Ft. Pickens state park is nice. Also, 20 east of Pensacola, you can find Navarre Beach campground at Navarre, FL.

- bsinmichExplorerThere are three large ones in Nashvile, near Grand Old Opry. Take Briley Parkway off I-65 to the East and just before the Opryland hotel they are on the West side of the road.

KV's RV Park in Hartselle AL is not too far off I-65. Good reviews on www.rvparkreviews.com. Long level pull thrus. - KID2TEXASExplorerThats a long section of road for sure, my guess is your around the cincy area so you could make it down to Huntsville or even Birmingham and there a few good spots all along 65. go to rvparkreviews.com and then select the state and then pick a town were you think you might like to stop for the night and search that area. Have fun and be safe.
