North Rim Campground with Pets

We plan to camp in a 5th wheel at the North Rim Campground of Grand Canyon in July. Has anyone camped there in the summer with a pet? I know there are no hookups and I'm concerned with the temperatures during the day for them (not us) since they will be in the RV. Thank you!

Yes, hot in this time of the year specially inside the RV.

But if I remember correctly, quiet time is 9pm to 7pm, so you can run the genny in between. North Rim campground is cheek-to-jowl but Jacob Lake campground is a little less congested but you have to load water as there is no water source inside the campground itself.

If quiet time is between 9 pm and 7 pm, then there is no acceptable generator time?

Do you mean 9 pm to 7 am?

9 pm to 7 am, yes.

Unless it's specifically forbidden in camp regulations, generators are allowed to run outside of this quiet time.

  • Well it's fairly high. When we were there the CG had some trees. I couldn't find a weather page for the North Rim and Jacob Lake jumps to Jacob africa so I don't know what the average temp is. If you look on the park webpage they usually show monthly average temps. But a little goggling gets July high 77 low 46.
  • My search shows temps average 86 to 90 F. Is that what you found?
