When we stayed in the North Rim's campground, I thought the sites around 14, 16 area were the best because they were closest to the edge of one of the canyons and had a little bit of view. Also close to the trail that leads to the lodge.
"Best" is subjective, of course. Not everyone wants campers walking through headed for the trail. But most sites are pull through by the road or in a center area, not all that private.
I loved being at that CG and the NR, by the way. Good camp store with Wifi and a lot of amenities, laundry nearby. Very woodsy, nice staff when we were there (2011.)
