November in Texas?

BIL is going to the Balloon Fiesta along with us and then to our park in Arizona for a couple weeks. Then their plan was to spend November in Texas on their way to Florida. Seems like he may have to change his plans for Texas??? Or have parks been at a low enough occupancy that the influx of construction works, displaced people etc will not overwhelm remaining sites available? Your thoughts?

Saw a post yesterday on a review group. A man who owns 3 parks in TX along the coast just raised his monthly rate from $595 to well over $1,000 per month. Of course the long term people who went thru the hurricane are stunned, cannot pay and need to find homes. When asked why? He said he was raising the rate to get rid of everyone and rent the sites out to the adjusters and utility workers etc who's companies would pay those rates. Everyone advised the poster to file complaints with the State. Price gouging after a disaster is illegal in TX and many other prone areas. So who knows how many sites will be open and affordable in any areas other than the RGV.

I believe that has been determined to be a misunderstanding and isn't correct (at least according to a comment that was supposedly a copy and paste from the campground's website).
  • Depends on where you want to go. I have Thanskgiving reservations in Galveston and they say they didn't have issues with the hurricane. No change of plans for us.
