Never been to a campground that prohibited campfires, except only once when there was a severe drought and there was a state wide fire ban.
We have a fire place at home and a fire pit (we can even open burn our trash where we live), so we have a lot of fires at home. So having a camp fire is no big deal for us. If we have one, we do. If we don't, it's no loss. When you have to clean up your own ashes, campfires and fireplaces are not so "thrilling" any more.
So, if we ended up in a campground that prohibited campfires, it would not affect us one way or the other.
