While I actually prefer Walmarts- I've come into campgrounds late a few times. I talk to neighbors the next morning and apologize. I usually get, "didn't even know you pulled in."
And that's with 2 kids who are incapable of closing doors gently and being quiet! :(
I think this is less of an issue than most believe, especially with pull-thru spots.
I've never been woken by people coming in late at night. That's why I'm looking for a pull through, pull in, turn off the truck (gasser, no rattles), pull in the power, go to bed. I have been woken up many times in a hotel by noise in the hall, or adjacent rooms.
Maybe I'm odd, but I don't really like the idea of my wife and teenager daughter sleeping at a Walmart/truck stop. Maybe I need to try it, but it seems odd to me.
