Ocala/Orlando overnight stop

We will be heading to the Keys in a month, and I'm looking for an easy in/out campground somewhere on I-75 round Ocala/Orlando.

We will probably get there around 10-11pm, and then be leaving by 6-8am. Would like a level pull through so I don't have to unhitch. I do need power to top off my batteries for my Resi fridge, so I really don't want a Walmart, but would work in a pinch.

Thanks
  • I checked freecampsites.net to see if there was a place to just pull in for the night and it looks like a tough area for an overnight. I think that's what you'll have to do due to your late arrival time. Here's the note for the Walmart in Ocala

"2600 SW 19th Ave. Ocala Fla. 34471 Management allows over night parking preferably in large parking area next to garden center, however there's never enough room and RV's, campers spilled out into other areas of Walmart parking. Location is surrounded by resturants, retail stores to accomodate most every need."
  • I can’t help much because I live in the area and would just park in my. Driveway that late at night but I would stay away from the Orlando area if at all possible. There aren’t many boondocking options here and the construction is terrible.
Not sure if you were on the turnpike if one of the rest areas would accommodate you but that’s not going to solve your power need.
