Ohio Amish country in September Favorite things to do

We will be going to the Ohio Amish Country on September 17th and while we have been there before I was curious about some of your favorite things to do and see while there. I know that nothing is open on Sundays or after 5 (except restaurants).

We will be staying at the Evergreen RV resort in Dundee Ohio.

Thanks!

Dave

  • If you like Football the Hall of Fame is not far. Remember there are horse and buggies all over and they will be unseen until you rise over a hill. Drive slow and look around.

There are several Cheese Factories and sales outlets. EVERYTHING IS CLOSED ON SUNDAY.
  • Berlin a favorite place of mine. Ditto for the Mt. Hope Auction. Go on drives through the countryside and enjoy the beauty of the farms. Betsy.
  • Boyd Worthmans has 10-15 varieties of fresh pies every day. They have a big chalkboard they write them on then cross them off as they sell out but I have never seen shoo fly.
  • If you can find it try some Shoo Fly Pie; unless you are diabetic.
  • Remembered a few more.

    Zoar Village.

If you liked Shawshank Redemption, it was filmed in and around Mansfield about an hour away.
There is a Shawshank Trail to see scenes and sets including the Reformatory which has tours.

  • Lehman’s Hardware in Kidron.
Mt Hope Auction. Wed or any day.
Mrs Yoders Kitchen in Mt Hope.
Hot roast beef sandwich at Boyd and Worthman in Berlin.
    Warther Museum in Dover.
Roundhouse Train Museum in Sugar creek.
    Roscoe Village in Coshocton.
Winesburg Meats for smoked chops, bologna. Etc.
Hershbergers Farm and Bakery in Charm.
Keim Lumber in Charm if you’re a woodworker.

The scenery is stunning. Drive around Doughty Valley towards Baltic.
    Charm Valley too.
There are some really cool cemeteries if you like visiting cemeteries.
  • Eat at Mrs Yoder's restaurant in Mt. Hope - its to die for -we stayed at Evergreen 4 nights and ate there twice it was so good. Your will love Evergreen - it has a great indoor pool
We enjoyed the tour and museum at the Warther Knives manufacturing plant in nearby Dover Ohio - they also have a shop there that sells knives they make - best knife I have ever owned
