Ok to run a generator at night if no one is around?

Interesting to see people will not run a generator while they sleep. During the early years of the Iraq war, we used generators to power everything. I had an enclosed, skid mounted generator that ran 24/7 about 40' outside my room with single pane, drafty windows...for 11 months. We had smoke detectors in all the rooms but not a CO2 detector.
