Okeechobee Lake Fl. RV Parks

We are thinking of spending the winter in Florida this year instead of Texas. Has anyone been to the Campgrounds around the Okeechobee Lake Fl. area?

Water's edge RV Resort or Aruba RV Resort or does anyone have ideas for an affordable RV Park in and around that area?

Thanks, Carol Lambert
  • My brother-in-law and sister-in-law have a place for sale in Okechobee if you are interested. It is in a nice park there with lots of activities. If interested, PM me. Really nice little place to have waiting on you for whenever you want to go. If I wasn't still having to work..................
  • We stayed at the KOA there several years back that was really nice at that time.

  • Be sure the resort has plenty of activities as there is not much to do in the area. We stayed in LaBelle our first winter in Florida and were bored silly.
  • If you love to fish, or if the park has the amenities and activities you like you could be fine. But the area it self has little to do. FL. is a big state, with lots of great parks, and interesting areas, I would keep looking.
  • Look at Zachary Taylor RV Resort. Low cost, good management, activities, private/rental boat docks and a boat ramp boat. Lock to Okeechobee visable from park. Last winter there for one week added one month and reserved for two months this winter.
  • My in laws are 60-70 years old and they are on the go all the time when down there either on the lake, fishing or site seeing. They amaze me how much they stay " on the go "..
