Olympic Peninsula Dispersed Camping areas?

I've been all over that area and can't recall any places. The best I can tell you is South Beach CG, 3 mi south of Kalaloch. No reservations, (unless it's changed) but get there early on a Tuesday and take your chances.

The Hamma Hamma Rec area has two small first-come, first-served campgrounds and several free dispersed camping spots. The turn-off from Hwy 101 is about 14 miles north of Hoodsport. Campgrounds and campsites are 8ish miles in.

There are about a half-dozen free DNR campgrounds in the Forks area. Bear Creek (or something like that) east of Forks is the one I've done, and it isn't bad at all. There are two or three near Sol Duc, etc. A search for WA state dept of Natural resources campgrounds will get you closer.

Not what you are probably looking for but worked for us when touring that area were the Casino dry camping areas in a pinch, and one O/N Walmart.

Which reminds me: Just north of the 7 feathers (or whatever) casino in Potlatch a woman runs a 12-space little spot right on the water. Not much room but VERY nice and you can back your rig out over the seawall. Same area that the Potlatch state ark is in.
Just north of Quilcene is "Leland park campground", a paid CG but no reservations and VERY overlooked. Also another similar park in Quilcene.

Just came back from Sol Duc. There are signs posted that say no overnight camping except in campgrounds. Loops A and B are full. There was room in the hot springs "resort" but the RV area was pretty aweful in my opinion.

We're camping at a DNR campground right now. No reservations so we haven't had a problem finding a site but it might be different on the weekends. They're not completely free because you do need to have a pass. http://discoverpass.wa.gov/143/Washington-Recreation-Lands

According to the DNR dispersed camping is permitted which could be a challenge due to the heavy undergrowth in the forest. We saw some spots on Upper Hoh Road that might work.

Boy that's an understatement. I've seen many roads leading into the forest, but it would be a challenge just walking in.

Prof Dan gave a great review of the "Hard Rain Cafe", and ever since then I've wanted to try it. A funky burger joint with some hookup spaces, south of Forks. Since it's near Kalaloch's South Beach CG I would try there first and see if I won the lottery.

Don't forget to see if Clallum County's Salt Creek park has any spaces.
