There are two Haystack Rocks. The one in Cannon Beach you can walk out to if the tide is low enough. There is another one in Pacific City, about 65 miles south of Cannon Beach. After you go to the Tillamook Cheese Factory, head for Cape Kiwanda RV Resort in Pacific City. Have lunch at the Pelican Brew Pub across the street and get a window table with a perfect view of Haystack Rock. We take all our kids and grandkids to Pacific City every summer. You'll love it. You can climb the dunes on Cape Kiwanda, stroll the beach, and at certain times of the year, you can see the dory fishermen launch their boats through the surf in front of the Pelican Brew Pub. Great fun.
