We finally got to go to Paulina Lake & East Lake in the Newberry Ntl Volcanic Monument this summer. It is a really unique and beautiful area. Unfortunately, it rained for most of the days we were there, but when it cleared up, we got to hike around a bit. The obsidian flow was amazing. The view from the top of Paulina Peak was also amazing, they say that you can see 4 states from there when it's clear. The campgrounds are reasonably priced and very nice. If you go there, you can get a cell phone signal at the top of Paulina Peak, or at the parking lot next to Paulina Falls.
