BC is absolutely beautiful. While we have a current health certificated for the dog and now cat we've never been asked for it. The few times border agents (both sides have come inside they some times pet the critters. But the big three have always been guns, wood and alcohol given the passport solves any ID concern.
You are also in the perfect place to take PCH south which is the best direction because of that BIG LAKE on the right side. OR, the people and the State Parks are well worth the trip. And then you can drop right into the main CA Redwood sections which have giants to behold.
