Oshkosh Airshow - EAA Airventure

Not really an aviation buff, but I kind of think it would be cool to go see this Oshkosh airshow. Anyone ever camp there?

I see there are water/electric sites available as far as one month ahead of the show, but I"m thinking those are hard to score. Also see that the campsites listed are only 20' x 30' - hard to fit a 37 footer in there...

just curious if anyone has any experience with it.
  • Yes we have been several times, you can take a generator and camp in the 24hr section. The best air show ever! more different types of planes than you can see anywhere, best people , lots to do and see fly market, home built planes, WW II area, Antiques, busses to take you anywhere in or out of the airshow, take a hat , good shoes , bag chair for the air show. Don't miss the night airshow! You'll have a great time.
  • When I lived in Michigan we packed the kids, tent and cooler and flew in to airshow. Pitched our tent next to aircraft and stayed for the weekend. Kids loved it. There were water buffalos placed throughout the aircraft parking area.
  • In my opinion it's is a must see even if you are not an aviation buff. As stated earlier, there is a ton to do and see!
