Can't help you out. We have concentrated on the Gulf side for the past several years. It has probably been over 15 years since we spend time in the winter on the east side.
If you haven't locked yourself into that side though, I would certainly look at CG's from Venice, Englewood, and down through Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda area. Nice weather and not as congested as some parts of Florida. Then if you want to visit Key West during your stay you can jump on the Express out of Ft. Myers. It is a pretty inexpensive ferry and a nice ride.
