Overnight stop south of DC/Richmond area

Looking for a good place for an overnight stop south of DC/Richmond area. Easy in and out on the way from MA to SC and on the way back.

Thanks!

The bad reviews are primarily from prior management. We took a gamble on just 1-2 nights and stayed 4 or 5. We really liked it there and the staff + camp hosts were all very friendly.

    I'd happily go back there.

    First class operation. Very nice.

BUT....it is north of Richmond and is a little pricey.

Posting a question like this without a hint about your "requirements"
    is kind of futile.

An emphasis on quality will give you an entirely different list than if the emphasis is on cost.

    They are now a KOA.
  • Americamps rv park is a great overnight stay off the basspro exit in richmond also.
  • +2 for Carolina Crossroads - Exit 173 (or 171) in NC, by Roanoke Rapids. Another option if you wish to go a bit farther south is RVacation near Exit 89 - all pull thru sites. Both have had special pricing for simple overnight stops in the past. We have used both as stopovers between NJ and Myrtle Beach and have never had a complaint with either. Also there is South Forty CG, exit 41 just past Petersburg, Va (a Good Sam Park), and a Yogi Bear Jellystone CG in Emporia, Va, exit 17. Have never used either of them. Might want to check out rvparkreviews.com for more ideas and others' experiences.
  • +1 for Carolina Crossroads. If you don't mind boon docking, Bass Pro Shop at exit 89 allows overnighters...at least they did a year ago.

Carolina Crossroads just over the VA/NC border off I-95.

If you don't mind Wallydocking, there's a Walmart 1 exit north of the Carolina Crossroads exit.
