Own a lot in Tennessee

Some years back, I read about an RV resort in TN where you could buy a lot. Included was a small residence. Just large enough for a kitchen, and maybe a dining room. I cannot remember the name of the place. Can anyone help me with this?

Thx

Depends on what you want to spend. Houses from $200K to over $500K. We visited a few years back and thought it was nice.

Current Gardens prices for new start around $400K for a duplex, not including the lot (another $50K plus), and that will be for very basic, builder-grade, and are far above the going price per sf of the area. Some resales may be lower, but are older. The newer resales currently listed cost more than their asking prices to build, so folks are losing money. A recent example - house cost over $800K, not including the lot, to build and sold for around $600K after being on the market more than a year.

We spent 2 years working on a house there and are glad we learned before we signed construction contracts that most folks these days see a 50% cost overrun from their original contract. The design process was also extremely frustrating and poorly done (we knew much, MUCH more about home building and construction than their "designer".) We were very glad the day we sold our lot. Would be happy to answer any questions via PM.
  • Crossvile area... The Gardens? Not in my budget.

There is a website for rvlots for sale in No. GA Mountains... much more reasonable.

  • There may some of these in the RV parks in the Crossville, TN area.
  • Go to gatlinburg real estate on the Internet and you will find lots of sites on the east parkway for sale. I don't know if they allow a casita type building on site.
