The Oregon coast is nothing like Washington's. Most beaches do not allow driving on them, so they are more relaxing. (You won't need to worry about being run over.) Fort Stevens state park has FHU and is near Astoria for additional site seeing: Astor column, maritime museum, Flavel house museum, Fort Clatsop. Drive down to Cannon Beach for a meal at Wayfarer on the ocean and visit Haystack Rock. Drive down to Lincoln City and stay at a private park. Visit Depoe Bay. We like Fathoms restaurant in Lincoln City for the views. Tidal Raves is good in Depoe Bay. Move down to Beverly Beach state park out of Newport with FHU. Visit the bay front in Newport. Have chowder at Mo's on the water and watch the charters come in. Visit the South Beach area of Newport for the aquarium and marine science center. This will give you a good taste of the Oregon coast. I would not plan so much time in Washinton before heading south..
