Pacific Northwest suggestions needed

Thank you all so much for the great information and suggestions you have given us. We appreciate your help. We know six weeks isn't long enough, but with our obligations at home it is all we'll be able to spare. We may drop Yellowstone on this trip because we've all been there before. And although we know the Oregon coast is gorgeous, we have seen it before, also. We really want to focus on places that will be new to us. Thank you, jamesu, for the suggestion to read "Undaunted Courage" first. Having such background information really makes a trip more meaningful. We'll be researching the suggestions you all have given us, and I'm sure we'll incorporate many of them into our trip. If you have any more suggestions, please keep them coming. Thanks again.
