Panama City FL

looking to stay at the Emerald Coast RV Resort in Panama City FL right around the first part of April of next year. Has anyone ever stayed there around that time of the year? How is the road noise, weather, and is it spring break for the schools then...any help would be appreciated
  • Are you saying that you have reservations at Coastline RV Resort in Eastpoint? if so that is a fairly quiet area and Coastline is a nice place (haven't stayed there, but did drive in and look around) They are doing alot to improve the sites, electric, etc, and also took over the campground about a half mile west of them, which is simpler and cheaper, but still OK. They are working to improve it also.

Several good places to eat in the area and a fair amount to see and do.

El Jalisco Mexican does rather good food and a great American Breakfast, right on 98 in Eastpoint.

Out on the island BJ's Pizza and Subs does a very good pizza and

the Blue Parrot Ocean Front Cafe does good seafood and other stuff (I'm not a seafood person).

Lots of other places, those are ones I have ate in.

Also don't forget the Lighthouse on St George if you are in for a view, and be sure and visit the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve Nature Center just off the road going to the causeway. http://apalachicolareserve.com/

There are at least a couple of museums in Apalachicola worth visiting and other places to eat.

Don't forget the state park on the island (Dr. Julian Bruce SP), and also Bald Point SP about 15 miles to the east, and TH Stone Memorial SP at St Joe, to the west.

If you need propane, the Ace Hardware next to the Burger King on the east side of Apalachicola on 98 can fill bottles or motorhomes and fairly easy access. The BK is right in front of an IGA grocery.

  • looks like I may have to change my dates. I have resv. at Coastline rv resort for the first week of April...any other suggestions would be very helpful since there is a no cancellation policy at thie resort
  • Stayed at St. Andrews State Park in March a few years ago! NEVER AGAIN! Spring breakers, traffic, was horrible. Campground was nice enough, and very quiet considering to how close all the action it was.
  • Spring breakers really make PCB a miserable place. I'd go further east or west in the Panhandle.
  • It get busy that time of year with Spring breakers. Wouldn't wait to long to check on availability!
