Panther Creek

Anyone camped at Panther Creek State Park in Tennessee? Looks like a good place for its close proximity to Smoky Mountain National Park. Hope there are no bears there.
  • Yes, we camped there for several days a few years ago. Very convenient to Morristown, TN where we attended a conference. Considered it a very good campground --NO BEARS!
  • We live 12 miles away from Panther Creek and it's a great campground. We go there when we can't travel further away just because. Every now and then a bear can show up almost anywhere, for the most part they are not a regular thing at Panther Creek. Look up the TVA headwaters and tailwaters campgrounds at Douglas lake. If you can get by with just water/electric and dump station then it may be worth a look.

Agreed. And if you play disc golf, they have a Great course. I believe the most recent state championships were held here.
