Patagonia Lake SP

Just returned from 3 delightful days at Patagonia Lake SP, one of our favorite CG's. The weather was awesome, high seventies with the humidity hovering around 8% and a light breeze, down to 40 overnight. The park is full virtually every day this time of year with the influx of snowbirds and reservations are a must. We met lots of nice folks, mostly Canadians and one couple is coming for dinner on Saturday night as they are moving to Catalina SP today which is just 6 miles down the road from our home.

Here is a shot of the lake that shows just how brown everything is. Have not had any rain for two months. Usually this time of year the hills are a verdant green. Oh well, at least the lake is full up thanks to the snow melt earlier this year:

  • Patagonia SP is a great birding area. One of the few spots in U.S. to add the Elegant Trogon to your Life List.
  • Catalina SP is one of the finest anyplace and Pagagonia not far behind.
  • That's a favorite part of Arizona for us, too! Thanks for the pic.
