I, too, am a dog owner, and I have to agree with responsible dog ownership. We routinely carry multiple poo bags, even when we are in the back country hiking, and carry out the dog's waste. Way too often we see piles of dog poo on our trails, in campgrounds, etc., or, even worse, dog poo in a plastic bag, tied up and tossed onto the side of the trail. One campground we have camped at instituted a "dog fee" for anyone camping with a dog, because they were forced to either hire someone to patrol the grounds to clean up after the dogs or forbid pets. Because they observed us cleaning up after our pup, it was quietly refunded when we left. I would rather pay a small fee than have to leave my buddy at home. Those who so not pick up after their dog or have an ill mannered pet need to be called out on this. They are going to ruin it for the rest of us! One of the reasons we have a trailer is to be able to have our buddies with us.
