Pigeon Forge and Nashville

For convenience to stay close to Pigeon Forge and still be out of the crazy my picks are Duvall in the Smoky's, River Plantation, Pine mountain, The Ridge...all close to the action but removed enough to be quiet.

In Nashville there are 3 located by the Grand Ole Opry, Two Rivers, the KOA and Jellystone Park. All are good. A must see in Nashville is the Hermitage, Andrew Jacksons home and museum.

Also stay at Up The Creek. There is a shuttle bus that runs the strip that stops right in the campground if you don't want to drive.

We always stay at UP the Creek. It is off of Wear Valley road and it is a very nice and quiet cg. Sites are large and not crowded.

Anchor Down is about 45 minutes from Pigeon Forge, according to how bad the traffic is. River Plantation is also on the other side of Sevierville, so it's a rather long drive (through awful traffic during the season). It's always "the season" there.

We prefer Pine Mtn RV Park for it's location. It is at traffic light #6 and is about 2 blocks from the turn-off to Dollywood. It's also almost at the end of town closest to Gatlinburg and the GSMNP.

There is no PERFECT RV Park for everyone. It's according to what you want. Sites will run you in excess of $50/night at the least. This is one of the places that you get what you pay for, so be advised.

Pigeon Forge, stay at Pine Mountain RV Park, Nashville stay at Twin Rivers RV Park or if you have $$$$ KOA Nashville. The shuttles for both downtown and the Grand Ole Opera visit both Nashville campgrounds. Have fun.

We were in Pigeon Forge in 2017 and stayed at River Plantation, it was nice..

As far as Nashville goes. it's been 15 years or so since we were there, but the last time we did, we stayed at Nashville KOA North.. it was nice, and also close to the Opry..

They used to have lots to do, and you were able to book bus trips that picked you up right in the campground..

You could also book trip to the Opry and other places from the front desk. I would assume MOST in the area offer that as well.

Pigeon Ford is full of campgrounds, simple to exclusive resorts, depending on how much you want to pay. All right in close, many right in the middle of the strip. from there to Nashville, several state parks with nice campgrounds, and a good number of nice private campgrounds.
