Pigeon Forge area campgrounds

I once saw a campground from the road near Pigeon Forge, TN. It was on the side of a hill and I am sure the campground had a great view. Does anyone know what campground this is? I searched and could not find one that I thought was the one that I saw.

Also, if anyone has any suggestions on a campground with a nice view in the North Carolina Mountains, let me know. I do not know if I will go this fall, but my wife wants to.
  • We stayed a week at Foothills parkway rv park and cabins in june, it is a small family owned and ran CG, spotless clean and right on the east edge of PF, I didn't notice as much traffic noise as some of the other ones in PF, very nice pool and bathrooms, awesome folks to deal with.
  • I'm at at Pine mountain RV now can't find anything wrong with it it's just perfect pave roads the works, a cross the rd you can use the hotels hot tubs inside and out, pools, then even have a lazy day pool you get a floating tub and move around a snake type water way till you get back where you started from. Not fast just lazy.

We usually camp inside the Smoky Natl Park at ELKMONT with no hookups but sometimes will go to RIVERSEDGE RESORT just as you enter Pigeon Forge coming from the Gatlinburg Side.

This is a great campground and is very convenient to visit both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge places. Also close to do the trails and CADES COVE inside the Natl Park as well...

Management at RIVERSEDGE RESORT are super people...

  • Camp LeConte Luxury Outdoor Resort nice small campground. New sites and great host and owners
  • We Stayed at Creekside RV Park in the spring. Nice and close to town.
Quiet and right on the creek. Full hook ups and a trolly service into town.
  • We stayed at Jellystone in Crosby, and Pine Mountain in Pigeon Forge.

Jellystone is not bad if you're up front, but the main area get's packed pretty good. The owner/staff are awesome! We went there with a rental TT before we bought the NT, and the sewer hose was far too short to reach the hole. So the owner snagged some hose/parts from the store and let us use it while we were there :)

Pine Mountain was very nice, and nearly empty when we were there (beginning of February). The grounds looked well kept, and it was a bit quieter than I expected for being nearly right on the main drag.
